The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has introduced the new banknote of 1000 hryvnias.
The new banknote features the portrait of Volodymyr Vernadsky, the famous scientist and the first president of Ukraine’s Academy of Sciences.
“He was chosen for his outstanding contribution to the history of Ukraine as a philosopher and the founder of a number of science branches – geochemistry, biochemistry and radiogeology”, the NBU said.
The reverse of the banknote reveals the image of the Presidium of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The UAH 1000 banknote is available as of today.
