The United States is now issuing a new-and-improved visa, nicknamed the U.S. Bridge visa due to the background image of the Golden Gate Bridge. The new visa was first issued in July 2023.

The Bridge visa has a red, white, and blue color scheme with iconic American imagery in the background. The document is protected from counterfeiting by the following security features*:

    • Black and white integrated photo of the holder
    • UV image that encompasses the entire face of the visa
    • Optically variable ink
    • Die-cut edges
    • Microprinting
    • Blind relief embossing (in multiple locations on the visa)
    • An optically variable device
    • Intaglio printing
    • Ultraviolet fibers
    • Personalization using inkjet
    • Background printing with offset, rainbow, and microprint.

Even as the newest version of the visa is being issued to applicants, previously issued visas shall remain valid until their expiry date.
