In an effort to combat counterfeiting, the States of Guernsey have launched more secure versions of their £5, £10 and £20 banknotes. The notes were introduced on January 19 and contain advanced security features.
The imagery on the new banknotes is the same as those currently in circulation. As on previous versions, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the new notes. Her portrait will continue to appear on the front of the Guernsey banknotes until a decision is made on a different design.
The new banknotes are printed on a paper substrate. The dimensions of each note remain the same those in the previous series.
