The central bank of Norway, Norges Bank, has introduced four out of the five banknotes in the new banknote series.
The 1000-krone banknote is set to be released on 14 November.
On the obverse side, the primary motif is a wave in the open sea. The image depicts the sea as a counterforce that hones and carries the nation forward.
Banknotestreet reports that the sea had been Norway’s wealth, the country’s contact with the rest of the world, and its people’s optimism for the future.
