The Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture of Malaysia has introduced a 15-day free travel visa via their Electronic Travel Registration and Information (eNTRI) programme for Indian and Chinese travellers.

eNTRI is an online registration facility provided by the Government of Malaysia to facilitate the entrance of Indian Nationals into Malaysia under the Visa Waiver Programme. An eNTRI note will be issued as proof of the registration and it is needed to be presented upon arrival in Malaysia.

The new visa facility is available until 31 December 2020 and the tourists must travel to Malaysia within 3 months, once they are registered.

This action is supposed to promote the “Visit Malaysia 2020” campaign aimed at increasing the tourist influx into the country.

Rajeev Kale, president and country head of Holiday, MICE, Visa and Thomas Cook (India), stated: “We truly welcome the announcement by Malaysia’s Ministry of Tourism for a 15-day visa free travel via the eNTRI programme for Indians, which will create a fillip to demand and thus maximise the India market potential during Visit Malaysia 2020.

“With the Indian consumer’s growing demand for micro-cations and biz-cations, the visa relaxation coupled with the various festivals and over 100 events planned through the year, will create strong allure across leisure, Bleisure and MICE segments.”
