Kyrgyzstan will release a new biometric passport in April 2021.
State Registration Service Vice Chairman Tilek Batyrkanov stated this at a press conference.
The passports will have strong security features, he added.
This new e-passports contains more than 30 modern security elements.
It will have an electronic chip on the passport cover, modern materials and laser technology for applying personal information
The document will consist of 34 or 52 pages, depending on the type of passport.
Pages of the passport contain unique images of symbols of the country’s regions.
These images include:
– The Kyrgyz National Historical Museum on Ala-Too square in Bishkek
– The museum-complex located on Sulaiman-Too mountain in Osh
– Aigul flower
– Toktogul hydropower plants cascade
– Tash-Rabat architectural complex
– Kumbez of Manas
– Burana tower
– Issyk-Kul lake
– The Tenir-Too mountains
There are also images of animals included in the Endangered Species List and living on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
A small image of the administrative-territorial map of Kyrgyzstan can be found on the inner side of the back cover of the passport.
The news comes after months of speculation that Kyrgyzstan was included on a US list of partial travel bans.
