The ID4Africa Annual Meeting and Expo has been postponed due to concerns over the coronavirus.
ID4Africa 2020, which was scheduled for 2-4 June, will now take place 28-30 October. It will still be held at the Palais des Congrès at Mövenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi in Marrakesh, Morocco.
Biometric Update reports the conference has been delayed due to the limitations that concerns over the virus have imposed on international travel and large gatherings.
Organisers said the event has been postponed in order to ensure “a healthy, safe, and highly successful event with inclusive participation by all the stakeholders from around the world.”
“The new date will allow us to deliver the quality and intensity that the identity community has gotten accustomed to from our prior events, without compromise or gaps due to limitations on participation,” Dr Joseph J. Atick, ID4Africa Executive Chairman, said in a statement.
Biometric Update reports the conference theme and thematic tracks are not expected to change, but the programme will be refined and updated as projects around the continent continue, to maintain the timeliness of all content.
