The US government has nominated Poland to have access to its State Department’s Visa Waiver Programme.

This programme will make it easier for Polish citizens to travel to the USA.

The White House calls the move an “important step in continuing to increase economic, security, cultural, and people-to-people connections between our two nations.”

The waiver programme allows citizens of participating countries to be able to travel to the US for up to 90 days, without requiring them to obtain a visitor visa.

According to Travel Market Report there are 38 countries that are participating in the visa waiver programme, including France, Germany, Australia, Sweden and Japan.

After the administrative process is completed, a date will be announced on which citizens seeking to enter the US for short tourist or business trips without a visa will commence.

Until that time, Polish tourists and business travellers will continue to require visas to enter the USA.
