Timothy Jurgensen is an author and an architect of tokenbased identification systems, and was awarded a PhD in lowenergy nuclear physics. After his retirement in 1999 he has been consulting to government and industry and has taught in graduate programmes at the University of Hong Kong and the University of Texas at Austin. His most recent book Privacy – The Frontier of Social Evolution uses his expertise in identity systems to reflect on the concept of personal privacy as grounded in United States law.
