Christian Weigand received his PhD in electronics and tele­communication from the University of Trondheim in 2012. In 2016, he joined the Forensic Science Institute of the German Bundeskriminal­amt, where he focusses on the forensic analysis of barcodes in identity documents, machine authentication and plat­forms for information exchange.
